A general contractor is liable for an injured construction worker because it was his "borrowing employer," Louisiana's 1st Circuit Court of Appeal concluded. Case: Courtney v. Fletcher Trucking, No. 2012 CA 0434, 12/21/12, published. Facts: Jason Courtney, a laborer for Fletcher Trucking, was shot in the leg while excavating and moving dirt at a subdivision development.
