Two years in the making, Kentucky's new medical treatment guidelines will be delayed another few months because of the coronavirus pandemic.
The state's commissioner of workers' claims, Robert Swisher, said in an order posted Wednesday that the treatment guidelines were set to take effect Sept. 1. But as COVID-19 shutdown requirements have been lifted and a backlog of patients seeks medical care, many doctors are saying they don't have the time for training sessions on the guidelines.
Agency staff also are not available to conduct the training, the commissioner said.
