OSHA has issued citations for nine safety violations to a rubber mat manufacturer in Calhoun after a worker’s hand was injected with hydraulic fluid during machine maintenance.
Apache Mills Inc. also faces $51,000 in proposed penalties, OSHA said in a news release on Monday.
The incident led to hospitalization of the 42-year-old employee, who needed a surgical shunt to drain fluid and reduce swelling, the agency said.
