A Pritchard, Alabama lumber mill is facing $50,085 in fines after an Occupational Safety and Health Administration inspection uncovered fall, hearing loss, amputation and electrocution hazards.
The administration issued 13 serious citations to PJ Lumber after inspecting the facility in June, according to a press release. The statement alleges that PJ failed to ensure adequate guardrails on staircases, didn't place guards around dangerous rotating machinery parts and lacked a hearing protection plan despite worker exposure to loud noises.
