Total Worker Deaths for 2013 Increase, still 2nd-safest Year, Says Labor Bureau

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics last week released the revised number of fatal work injuries in 2013, raising the number of deaths to over 4,500 people.  Preliminary results for 2013 released last September reported 4,405 fatalities, about 200 fewer than the initial count of 4,628 deaths. The total number of deaths for 2013 has been revised again, and now stands at 4,585.  Every year, the number of fatal work injuries increases after the preliminary numbers come out, but 2013 doesn’t look to be the most dramatic, compared to 2012, which saw a 6% rise of 245 deat...
