Jury Awards Offshore Oil Driller $9.6 Million for Back Injury

An employee of an oil-drilling vessel obtained a $9.6 million verdict against Diamond Offshore Services, after a jury determined that Diamond Offshore's vessel was unseaworthy and that its negligence caused his career-ending back injury. Willie David Williams obtained a $9.6 million award from the 164th District Court of Harris County, the Doyle Raizner law firm announced.
