Commission Gauging Interest for 'Nuts and Bolts' Workshop

The South Carolina Workers’ Compensation Commission is conducting a survey to gauge interest for a workshop focusing on the basics of workers' compensation forms and processes.
The commission said in a statement that it usually hosts a pair of one-day workshops every year. The Claims Administration Made Easy program is geared toward those who are already familiar with the commission’s forms and processes. The nuts and bolts workshop is more remedial and targeted to those who are new to the work comp industry.
“In light of the delay in the implementation of the new KERMIT system, we are requesting your participation in the following survey to determine interest in conducting a Nuts and Bolts Workshop in the near future,” the commission said in the statement. “Please note the workshop will not include any discussion of the KERMIT system and its new processes. It will only focus on the current forms and business processes.”
The Workers’ Compensation Commission in February announced that it will temporarily suspend work on its information technology modernization program. The Key Element Reporting Management & Incident Tracking system, or KERMIT, was deactivated for registrations, testing and claims viewing, the commission said.
The commission’s survey is here.
