Montana Gov. Greg Gianforte enacted legislation allowing physician assistants and physical therapists to serve as injured workers' treating physicians. Treating physicians coordinate care and determine maximum medical improvement, impose medical restrictions and determine whether a job offer is compatible with an injured worker’s condition.
