Ohio business owners are still waiting for their share of a $420 million settlement with the Bureau of Workers' Compensation, according to a report by the Columbus Dispatch.
Plaintiff's attorney Stuart Garson, of Garson & Johnson, told the newspaper that business owners have submitted 29,000 claims seeking $261 million, out of approximately 300,000 eligible employers. Garson said most of the claims are fairly straightforward, but some were filed by businesses that filed for bankruptcy, complicating the decision about who should get the settlement check.
