WCD Adopts Final TD Rules for Workers Hired Through Union Halls

Oregon’s Workers’ Compensation Division has restored a methodology for calculating temporary disability benefits owed to workers employed through union hiring halls. The permanent rules require carriers to calculate the rate of compensation on the basis of a five-day work week at 40 hours a week, regardless of the days actually worked per week. After two years of deliberations with its advisory committee, the division repealed the union hiring hall TD calculation rules at the start of 2017.
