The Greater Pensacola Chamber vowed Tuesday to fight a proposed 17.1% rate increase for workers’ compensation in Florida.
The Florida Department of Financial Services will consider the rate increase — proposed by the National Council on Compensation Insurance — later this summer. The proposed rate hike was triggered by a recent state Supreme Court ruling that a cap on claimants’ attorney fees was unconstitutional.
