CMS Posts Updated Set-Aside Reference Guide

The U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services on Monday posted an updated version of its guide for set-aside arrangements. All parties in a workers’ compensation case are responsible under the Medicare Secondary Payer laws to protect Medicare’s interests when settling cases that include future medical expenses. The recommended method to protect Medicare’s interests is a set-aside agreement.
