Failure to Report Injury Leads to Fraud Charge

The owner of a Minnesota construction company was charged with workers’ compensation fraud after failing to report an injury at a job site, according to a report by an ABC affiliate in Minneapolis. Nelson Israel Lopez Giron, 35, owns Giron Construction LLC. One of his workers was struck in the eye by a nail in February 2020. Giron allegedly gave the worker eye drops and allegedly told the worker to lie about how the injury happened. He did not report the injury to his carrier.
