Paint Contractor Charged With Underreporting Earnings to Avoid Comp Coverage

A Brooklyn-based interior painting contractor has been charged with defrauding more than $64,000 from the New York State Insurance Fund. Vasillios Georgiadis, also known as William Georgiadis, 64, of Brooklyn, and Coronet Gotham LLC are charged with second-degree insurance fraud, second-degree grand larceny, failure to secure workers’ compensation insurance, fraudulent practices, first-degree falsifying of business records, first-degree offering a false instrument for filing and making a punishable false written statement.
