BWC Announces Convictions of Pill Mill Doctor, Uninsured Business Owners

The Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation announced convictions of a doctor accused of operating a pill mill and business owners accused of operating without insurance or presenting phony certificates of insurance. Dr. Morris Brown, 73, was sentenced to two years in federal prison on Feb. 8 after investigators discovered his involvement in an opioid ring, the BWC said in a statement. Brown, who leased space in a building he owned to Dayton Pharmacy, pleaded guilty to one count of unlawful distribution of controlled substances in February 2020.
