Committee Passes Bill to Extend TD for Successful Medical Disputes

A California legislative committee passed a bill that would exempt from the aggregate cap on temporary disability benefits the amount of time spent successfully challenging a treatment denial after finding the fiscal impact of the bill would be limited by the small number of claims to which it would apply. The Assembly Appropriations Committee voted 12-2 on Wednesday to pass AB 1213, by Assemblymember Liz Ortega, D-Hayward.
