A Florida contractor accused of ripping off elderly customers also faces three counts of failing to secure workers' compensation coverage for his employees, according to a report by News Channel 8 in the Tampa Bay area.
The television station reported that the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office has issued an arrest warrant for Angelo Mitchell on 16 charges, which include grand theft from persons over 65, unlicensed contracting, home solicitation without a permit, and workers' comp violations.
The 31-year-old Mitchell allegedly pocketed clients' money for botched roofing jobs and used "intimidation tactics" to collect payment, such as blocking homeowners' driveways, according to the News Channel 8 report.
