Vista City Councilman Spends Less than 1 Hour in Jail

A Vista, Calif., city councilman and his wife were able to complete the incarceration portion of their sentence on misdemeanor workers' compensation fraud charges by spending less than an hour in jail.Frank Lopez and his wife, Mary, who had been ordered to serve one day in jail, spent about 35 minutes at the Vista Detention Facility on Oct. 31, being fingerprinted and having mug shots taken, before being released, according to an article in the North County Times.The couple had been scheduled to report to jail Sunday, but a jail clerk said the Lopezes had reported instead at 8:29 a.m. Oct....
