Large-Deductible Policy Bill Passes Over Governor's Veto

The Missouri legislature has passed a bill aimed at requiring employers who purchase large-deductible workers' compensation policies to pay the guaranty fund if their carrier folds, overturning Gov. Jay Nixon's veto of the measure in May. In his veto letter, Nixon said the bill used the term "insured" when it meant "insurer" in one line.
