The Occupational Safety and Health Administration fined an asbestos abatement company $243,716 for exposing workers to carbon monoxide and asbestos while renovating a Wisconsin nursing home.
Five A&A Environmental Services Inc. employees became ill from carbon monoxide exposure on the site this spring. A hospital treated the workers on April 19.
OSHA inspectors visited the site the next day. The agency issued four willful and nine serious health violations to Poynette-based A&A Environmental Services.
