Carriers, agents and “support organizations” would be exempted from a new law allowing California residents to request that businesses delete personal information and disclose what kind of data they are collecting, under a bill introduced by the chairman of the Assembly Insurance Committee.
Another measure would further restrict the scope of the new consumer privacy law so as not to interfere with the collection or use of data needed to protect against fraud.
