Nursing Home Official Gets Probation for Kickback Scheme

A man who ran the workers' compensation program for a nursing home in central Pennsylvania was sentenced to probation for two years and ordered to forfeit $628,450, according to a report by The Patriot-News in Harrisburg. Paul D. Polen, 72, ran the workers' compensation program at Susque-View Home Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Lock Haven. He was accused of requiring a physician he hired at the home to pay him $1,700 to $2,500 in kickbacks just to keep the job.
