The Connecticut Insurance Department is reminding insurers to not charge additional premium for small-business owners who opt out of workers' compensation coverage, following a state Supreme Court ruling.
The department on Thursday posted a notice to insurers and agents that because of the Gould v. Stamford decision in March, members of single-member LLCs must now elect to be excluded from coverage.
