Berkshire Hathaway has reported net earnings attributable to shareholders of $12 billion in the second quarter, up from $4.26 billion in the second quarter of 2017.
For the first half of 2018, net earnings were $10.9 billion, compared to $8.3 billion in the prior-year period.
Within the company’s insurance operations, the Berkshire Hathaway Primary Group saw premiums written increase 17% in the quarter, to $2.11 billion. For the first half of the year, premiums written were $4.27 billion, also a 17% increase.
