Some doctors feel they’re being unfairly targeted and accused of workers’ compensation fraud, according to a report by the NBC affiliate in San Francisco.
Some attorneys and academics allege that providing grants to district attorneys to investigate and prosecute fraud could create improper incentives to file trivial charges. Prosecutors, meanwhile, told the TV station they file charges only when they have evidence that a crime was committed.
