Montana State Fund on Friday awarded 15 people studying occupational health and safety or trades and industry with $4,000 scholarships.
The scholarships are part of the state-chartered carrier’s “Growing a Safer Montana” initiative, which aims to stress the importance of workplace safety to young people before they enter the workforce. The initiative intends to address the fact that Montana has historically had one of the highest workplace injury rates in the country.
