Commission's Mediation Section Settles a Record Number of Cases

The North Carolina Industrial Commission’s mediation section settled nearly three-quarters of its nearly 10,000 referred cases in fiscal 2017, the agency says. It was the most cases ever referred for mediation in a single fiscal year, the agency said, calling its 73.81% settlement rate “exceptional.” The mediation section is responsible for “effectively, fairly and efficiently” administering the Industrial Commission’s mediation program, the agency said.
