CompWest Eyes Larger Slice of State's WC Pie

Even though the workers’ comp insurance market in California is dominated by about two dozen carriers, other companies still have a strong interest in even a small slice of the state’s $12.3 billion direct-written-premium pie. The latest evidence of that interest is the announcement on Tuesday that CompWest Insurance Co. will be offering workers’ comp coverage to more than 50 new classifications in construction, manufacturing and other areas.
