The Ohio Supreme Court ruled that a widow was not eligible to receive schedule loss compensation as a surviving spouse. Bohdanus Byk worked for Republic Steel. He slipped and fell from a platform in August 2012, suffering severe head injuries. Byk remained in a persistent vegetative state for almost three years until he died.
