A month after a scathing report blasted McDonald's restaurants for failing to protect its workers from violence, the corporation and its franchises have yet to make major changes, worker advocates said.
“The lack of response from the company has been very disappointing, to say the least,” said Deborah Berkowitz, worker health and safety director for the National Employment Law Project. She is the author of the report that documented more than 720 workplace violence incidents at McDonald's stores in the last three years.
