Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey has filed a lawsuit charging that Uber and Lyft ridesharing companies have misclassified drivers, blocking them from workers' compensation and other employee protections.
“Uber and Lyft have built their billion-dollar businesses while denying their drivers basic employee protections and benefits for years,” Healey said in a statement this week. “This business model is unfair and exploitative.
