Members of the National Guard would be eligible for workers’ compensation benefits, under legislation recently introduced in the Kansas Legislature.
HB 2209, by the House Committee on Veterans and Military, would offer workers’ compensation to members of the National Guard in lieu of other benefits in KSA 48-261 through 48-271. Those statutes entitle guardsmen to medical treatment and indemnity benefits for line-of-duty injuries.
