Court Says Worker's Widow Can't Claim His Accrued TTD Benefits

In a case of first impression, an Ohio appellate court last week ruled that a worker's widow was not entitled to the temporary total disability benefits he had accrued prior to his death. Since the employer for Thomas Sanders secured a postmortem ruling that the conditions for which he sought additional TTD were not compensable, the Court of Appeals for the 10th District of Ohio said that there were no benefits that his widow could claim.
