The agency, known as CIRMA, administers a risk pool that covers 371 member municipalities and school boards, according to a local news report. The check was part of $5 million that will be distributed to members this year.

Since 2011, CIRMA has returned $313,250 to Fairfield and the local school board, the news report noted.

“The town is delighted that CIRMA’s Members’ Equity Distribution Program will help members like us achieve our mission of providing vital public services at a most economical cost,” said Mike Tetreau, a selectman for the town.
