Optical Equipment Maker Fined for Recurring Safety Violations

The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration has proposed fines of $131,600 against a New York-based optical equipment maker for recurring safety violations at its plant in Victor, N.Y.OSHA said in a news release inspectors cited Wordingham Machine Co. for seven violations of workplace safety standards in March and conducted a follow-up inspection in June after the company failed to respond to the citations."Employers must understand that they cannot ignore their responsibility to provide safe working conditions for their employees and to correct hazards when identified.
