The Vermont Workers' Compensation and Safety Division has adopted changes that increase the hourly cap on attorneys' fees paid by employers for injured workers at $145 an hour.J. Stephen Monahan, director of Workers' Compensation and Safety, said Workers' Compensation Rule 10 took effect on Tuesday.It allows judges to award workers to hourly fees up to $145 or a contingency fee of no more than 20% of the final award when the workers prevail in disputed claims.The rule states it has no impact on the amount included in payment agreements between injured workers and their lawyers....
