OSHA Cites UPS After Heat Sends Worker to Hospital

Federal safety regulators have cited United Parcel Service after a worker was hospitalized for heat-related illness near the UPS facility in Riviera Beach, Florida. UPS Inc. faces $13,260 in penalties in connection with the citations, which the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration issued on Aug. 23. The company has 15 business days to contest them. The employee became ill while delivering packages and needed hospitalization, OSHA said.
