Labor Advocate Richie Ross Faces $5,000 Fine for Lobbying Violations

Richie Ross, a veteran Democratic campaign consultant and a lobbyist for the California Applicants' Attorneys Association, agreed to pay a $5,000 fine and waive $160,000 in uncollected fees from work on two state lawmakers' campaigns, under terms of a proposed settlement with the Fair Political Practices Commission. Ross is accused of two violations of the Political Reform Act for failing to try to collect "win bonuses" from former Assemblyman Paul Fong, D-Cupertino, and state Sen. Ricardo Lara, D-Bell Gardens.
