WCD Posts Proposed Gender-Neutral Rules

The Oregon Workers’ Compensation Division posted a copy of proposed rules that would strip all references to gender from the state’s comp regulations. The WCD is proposing to edit Chapter 436 of the Oregon Administrative Rules to remove words including “he” and “she” and “his” and “hers.” For example, a rule referring to when an insurer notifies a patient that “he or she” is medically stationary would be edited to read “they are” stationary.
