DWC Proposes Changes to Fee Schedule, Treatment Guidelines Rules

The Colorado Division of Workers’ Compensation will hold a hearing in September to discuss proposed changes to the Medical Fee Schedule and the state’s treatment guidelines rules. Proposed changes to the fee schedule would reduce the conversion factor for all services except physical medicine and rehabilitation, and evaluation and management. Colorado’s fee schedule is modeled after Medicare’s Resource-Based Relative Value Scale, in which procedures are assigned relative value units that are multiplied by a conversion factor to determine reimbursement.
