The Office of Administrative Law approved emergency rules to allow remote medical-legal evaluations while stay-at-home orders are in effect throughout California.
Rules the OAL approved Thursday will also extend the time period that a currently scheduled medical-legal appointment can be rescheduled, to 90 days from 60 days. The rules also extend the time period for scheduling an initial QME appointment to 90 days from 60 days and allow the party with the right to make the appointment to waive the 90-day requirement and schedule within 120 days.
