The Florida Department of Financial Services announced workers’ compensation fraud charges against the owner of a construction company accused of concealing payroll to illegally lower his premiums.
The department on Wednesday said Miguel Porras, owner of Thiago’s Enterprise Construction Inc., in 2021 reported $56,104 in annual payroll resulting in a work comp policy with an estimated annual premium of $4,400.
