The California Assembly Insurance Committee on Wednesday afternoon passed bills that would allow county and special district park rangers to receive full-pay salary continuation benefits in lieu of temporary disability and create a presumption that heat injuries are compensable for agricultural workers whose employers violated certain safety regulations.
The committee voted 12-0 to pass SB 1058, by Sen. Angelique Ashby, D-Sacramento, which would allow park rangers to receive salary continuation benefits under Labor Code Section 4850 instead of TD.
