Judge Dismisses Overbilling Case, Prosecution Vows to Refile

Kamin, ReporterAn Orange County, Calif., judge dismissed 884 counts of workers' compensation fraud against Dr. Sim Hoffman and his codefendants for an alleged sleep center overbilling scheme, but prosecutors say that they will refile the charges in January. A grand jury indicted Hoffman in May 2011 for allegedly billing for sleep studies and other services that were never performed.
