Supreme Court Revives Employer's Challenge to Award, 3rd DCA Dismisses CIGA Lawsuit

The California Supreme Court on Wednesday revived an employer's challenge to an award for a worker's back injury. Goodwill Industries had sought judicial review of a decision by the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board finding Penelope Bembister Rieger had suffered a compensable injury while working as a Goodwill service coordinator, but the 4th District Court of Appeal summarily dismissed its petition as untimely.
