Alabama's workers' compensation benefit levels have made headlines in the state this week after the mother of a young man killed on the job said his life appears to be worth only $7,500. “To be able to get justice, yeah, the law needs to be changed,” said Connie Hay, the mother of a 20-year-old worker who died after washing out a tanker truck at J&M Tank Lines in Sylacauga, according to a local news report.
