Report Warns Payers to be Wary of One-Size-Fits-All OON Solutions

Out-of-network medical expenses can account for roughly 40% of an organization's bill volume and from 25% to 40% of total billed charges. This translates to an average of $2 milion in total expenses for smaller regional payers to more than $40 million for large national payors, according to a new report published by Coventry Workers' Comp Services.The report lists various out-of-network, or OON solutions, that payers can employ to reduce costs.
