A New Jersey man who was charged with insurance fraud by two grand juries last November has pleaded guilty to defrauding insurance companies and credit unions of nearly $600,000, according to a press release from the New Jersey Office of the Attorney General.
Vinny Curbelo, 31, of Perth Amboy, pleaded guilty to seven charges, including health care claims fraud, theft by deception, insurance fraud and theft by unlawful taking.
Curbelo could serve up to eight years in state prison when sentenced in June.
