Trench Hazards Prompt Fines Against Contractor and Temp Firm

The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration proposed a total of $44,600 in fines against a Pennsylvania contractor and the temporary staffing firm that provided labor to it after finding workers laboring in a ditch up to 18 feet deep without cave-in protection. OSHA issued a citation for a willful violation and several serious violations of safety laws to Kinsey Corp. of Venetia, Pennsylvania after receiving an anonymous tip on Sept. 15, 2015.
