Twenty-six of 27 states in a new report saw their workers’ comp prescription drug costs per claim drop from January 2015 to March 2018, with California posting the biggest decrease, 77%.
But drug spending in Louisiana went the opposite direction, increasing 13% during the same period, according to the report from the Workers Compensation Research Institute.
As of the first quarter of 2018, California had the lowest quarterly prescription costs per claim among the study states, at $25. Louisiana had the highest prescription costs per claim, at $258.
